At Studio 39, we believe thoughtful design helps us feel and live better lives. Every space should tell a unique story that reflects the user's individualistic sense of style, history, and experiences. Creating a meaningful experience is at the core of our design approach. Through the juxtaposition of contemporary and vintage pieces, and a mix of materiality, color, texture, and light, Studio 39 creates one-of a kind spaces that are both functional and beautiful.

With an array of high-end clientele and a history of publication (including Home and Design Magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine, Baltimore Magazine, and many others) Studio 39 is a trusted resource for homeowners looking to take their space to the next level.

Grace earned her BA in Interior Design from Marymount University. She has spent the last several  years in the industry working on residential projects for local designers before deciding to join forces with her mother to open Studio 39. Her love of artistic expression and creating beauty in the ordinary has evolved into her desire to help others realize their homes' full potential. Grace is always looking for new ways to push boundaries and create unique spaces that reflect her clients' personalities and lifestyles.

Claire holds her BA in Studio Art from Randolph Macon College and a BS in Interior Design from Marymount University.  She made a name for herself in the DC design scene over the past 20 years, and has been published in Home Magazine, Baltimore Magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine, Coastal Living and Arlington Magazine amongst others. An artist, designer, and athlete, Claire's passions take many forms. Many of her artworks hang in her client's homes. She has worked on both residential and commercial projects, which include the Marymount University Library and Satellite Campus, River Run Country Club,  Northern Virginia offices, boutique hotels, and many homes in the DC Metro area, Florida, New York, and the Eastern Shore.

Why Studio 39? Our first official project was a remodel of a historic lakefront home in Western New York. The home was originally built by Clement Studebaker and we were tasked with restoring the beautiful architectural detailing while modernizing the rest of the spaces and creating a comfortable and anything other than ordinary living space for the large family. This project launched our design studio...and it resided on 39 North Lake Drive.

Claire and Grace are a mother-daughter duo who officially joined forces after Grace graduated design school. Claire made a name for herself in the DC design world over the past 20 years and has been published in Home and Design Magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine, Baltimore Magazine, among many others! We are available for travel.
