How do I know if Studio 39 is the design team for me?

That is a great question! There are many designers out there, but with our professional training and years of experience, we have honed and perfected our process so that everything runs smoothly. Our approach starts with getting to know you, what is significant to your family, and your lifestyle. We consider your  ourselves "out of the box" thinkers, but we are also rooted in practicality. Our goal is to create a beautiful and functional space that suits your family's lifestyle and needs.

 

Furthermore, working with Studio 39 saves you time, money, and the stress associated with taking on the project yourselves. With our plethora of experience and resources, we tackle every aspect of your project so you don't have to lift a finger!

How much is a typical design project?

Our projects can vary widely in costs and are dependent on scope of work, budget (yes, we work work within your budget!) and whether or not construction is required. Through our years of experience, we have found that full furnishing of a medium-sized room starts at around $35,000 plus design fees.

How long is a typical design project?

Many factors play into the timeline of your project. Construction, scope of work, and trades all factor into how long a project will take. Furthermore, we are experiencing unprecedented delays in shipping and manufacturing due to COVID-19. Furnishing and accessorizing projects can run about 6-9 months and projects that require construction can run from about 8-14 months.

What is your design process and will I be involved?

Through our years of experience, we have perfected our 14-step design process. You can read more about our process here. While you are involved in all of the major decisions in your project, the Studio 39 team is here to do the rest! We create the design plan and use a combination of drawings, renderings, and mood boards to present our ideas. We manage all trades and work with your contractor (if applicable) to make sure everything is completed seamlessly.

We welcome feedback and make any necessary edits to your project's design plan so all you have to do is sign off and relax while we manage the rest!

Do you have a signature style that you prefer?

Studio 39's signature style blends vintage and modern, materiality, texture, and light. Our goal is to create spaces that are not over-designed and feel natural, lived in, and functional. We pride ourselves in creating one-of-a-kind spaces that reflect your personality and highlight your experiences.

Will you incorporate any of my existing furniture?

Yes! We love to incorporate our client's existing pieces in our designs. Sometimes that means using the piece as is, other times we refinish or repurpose items to give them a new life. This helps our client's save money and it helps us on our mission to reduce the environmental impact of our industry.

Do I purchase all my furnishings through you?

Studio 39 in a full-service design firm, meaning that we not only act as your designer, we are your furniture retailer too! With our trade-only resources, we always provide pricing at lower than MSRP (retail price), so our clients save money on all their furnishings and fixtures!

How soon should I reach out for my new build or renovation project?

It is never too early to enlist an interior designer's help with your new build or reno project! Architects, builders and designers all think differently and it is important that whomever you hire considers how a space is lived in.

Do you travel? 

We love to travel! We have completed projects in Virginia, Maryland, DC, New York, Colorado, and Florida. Regardless of our project's location, our process remains the same.
